Retirement for us meant freedom and our Krug Expedition truck made that dream possible. After years of planning, saving and downsizing, we built our perfect off-grid home on wheels: a truck with the comfort and capability to take us anywhere. Four years later, we’ve crossed deserts, watched the Northern Lights and parked in some of the world’s most remote spots. Life on the road isn’t always glamorous, but it’s deeply rewarding. Our Krug truck gives us independence, security and the ability to live our dream for years to come.

From Canada to the Sahara, our Krug Expedition truck Rosie has taken us to places we never dreamed possible. We’ve explored Scottish islands, crossed Moroccan pistes and navigated Mauritania’s bustling streets, all with our home (and our dogs) right beside us. The space, comfort and off-grid capabilities mean we can travel on our own terms, whether it’s a remote beach or a mountain pass. Even when challenges arise, Krug’s support has us back on the road fast. With Rosie, the journey never has to end and that’s exactly how we like it.

Traveling the Americas in our Krug Expedition truck Coco with two toddlers has been the most rewarding adventure of our lives. Our home on wheels gives us flexibility, off-road capability and a safe, familiar space for our children no matter where we are, from Canadian coasts to Mexican villages. The family friendly layout, bunk beds, outdoor kitchen and off-grid comfort mean we can explore at our own pace. Every day brings new cultures, landscapes and friends. And with Coco, we carry our world with us. It’s more than travel, it’s the life we dreamed of giving our kids.

Eight weeks in Namibia with our Krug Expedition Truck was an unforgettable mix of challenge and wonder. Our 6×6 home let us reach remote deserts, wild rivers and untouched coasts while keeping our family of five safe, comfortable and self-sufficient. We cooked fresh meals in our outdoor kitchen, slept under endless stars and woke to elephants, oryx and jackals outside our window. Off the beaten path, we found the Namibia we dreamed of: genuine connections, breathtaking landscapes and freedom at every turn. Our truck isn’t just transport, it’s our gateway to wild beauty beyond the map.

Scandinavia in winter was everything we dreamed of and more. In our Krug Expedition truck Charlotte, we chased the northern lights, stood meters from whales in icy fjords and shared the road with reindeer. Floor heating kept us warm in sub zero temperatures and after adding spike tires, driving felt secure even on narrow, icy serpentines. Our cozy home on wheels, complete with a tiny Christmas tree, made the frozen north feel welcoming. This journey gave us unforgettable wildlife encounters, breathtaking landscapes and friendships that warmed the coldest nights.

Our life is split between two homes: our sailing catamaran Joy and our Krug Expedition truck KONG. After years at sea, we craved the freedom to explore remote landscapes beyond the water. When we finally found the exact Steyr truck we’d dreamed of, it felt like fate. KONG gives us the same autonomy we love at sea, with comfort, ruggedness and self-sufficiency. From Europe’s wild deserts to future adventures in Africa and Iceland, our Krug truck is more than transport: it’s our passport to a life without limits.
