The result of an epic collaboration between KRUG EXPEDITION and Arctic Trucks is a unique expedition grade truck especially made for the US.

Arctic Trucks are on the forefront of polar transportation, and KRUG brings over a decade of experience in building expedition grade trucks and 230+ finished projects to the table. BEDROCK XT2 is a one of a kind 6x4 off-road machine converting a luxury variant of the Ford Super Duty F-550 and bringing it to the next level with suspension and chassis frame reliability.

An additional tag rear axle decreases the ground pressure by upwards of 25%, while formidable 365/80R20 Continental MPT tires provide superb traction in rugged terrain and smooth operation while driving on the road.

The three axle design solves a common issue of overloading the rear axle, with BEDROCK XT2 load distribution is perfectly balanced, greatly improves breakover and departure angles and allows for a longer living habitat without compromising the off-road performance of the truck. The new rear tag axle also features hydraulic disc brakes for improved control and reduced braking distances.

For even greater convenience, Arctic Trucks' 8-link rear air suspension system includes independent control from inside the cab, allowing quick air pressure adjustments to accommodate varying payloads and terrain.

MODULE BODY

KRUG EXPEDITION builds their module walls using reinforced sandwich panels with superior insulation and performance characteristics. Each living habitat is completely free of cold bridges. This prevents accumulation of condensation inside the module, and also means a significant overall decrease of energy consumption in extreme cold and hot environments.

Both the inside and outside of the wall and ceiling panels are coated with an extremely strong GRP laminate. Due to its very high fiberglass percentage, 70%, and its cross-woven structure, the outer GRP laminate is extraordinarily resistant to mechanical influences. This is one of the major quality features that distinguishes us from our competitors.

By default, all our modules are equipped with a diesel-powered air heating system, which offers very short heat-up times, low-noise operation and infinitely variable power control for a consistent temperature inside the module.

WATER SUPPLY
AND FILTRATION SYSTEM

WATER

The fresh water tank is filled via the filler neck in the side wall of the module, enabling to fill the tank when the water pressure is insufficient or there is a need to fill from the canister. The system for pressurized filling, includes water pre-filtration and a powerful UV treatment unit. The fresh water is pre-filtered via a filtration system with 3 pre-filtering stages with activated carbon and a fine filter capacity of up to one micron. The water is then treated with PURION 1000 UV lamp. The UV lamp emits a wavelength of 254 nm without producing any ozone.

POWER SUPPLY

ENERGY

Our modules and their equipment are designed to provide a fully electric experience. Powerful solar panels, a generously sized battery bank and matching components by Victron (an established manufacturer of energy systems for marine and off-grid applications) ensure a reliable supply of energy wherever you may be, so that you don’t have to worry about procuring gas bottles and / or adapters. With our system you are not limited to 120V power supply, but can also charge from 230V, which makes it possible to charge anywhere in the world.

This wavelength ensures that germs, bacteria, viruses and spores are eliminated. The PURION 1000 enables you to disinfect drinking water at a flow rate of up to 1,000 l/h (265 gal./h).
The water supply is realized by means of two pressure pumps, which can be switched independently of each other. This makes our water supply system fail-safe and redundant.
Fresh water going to the drinking water tap in the kitchen is additionally filtrated with General Ecology Seagull IV-X2 system with carbon activated pre-filter that ensures the effective removal of chemical and visible contaminants, including herbicides, pesticides, chlorine and other particles exceeding 0.4 micron (4 nanometres). Furthermore, the filter removes bad taste, odours and turbidity.

The next layer of drinking water treatment is UV LED unit. Its purpose is to eliminate any residual bacteria or viruses that were not filtered out in the previous stages. UV LED disinfection unit is fully automatic. It has no warm-up phase, unlike traditional UV lamps, and turns on instantly when the water is being drawn. External shower outlet is on the right side of the module in the garage compartment. Cold and hot water supply circuits feature compressed air inlets allowing to blow the residual water out of the system when preparing the module for winter storage.

All tanks are located inside the module and are equipped with an automatic frost protection system. The fill levels of the tanks are monitored by level sensors and displayed on the central control panel inside the living module. The grey tank is emptied by means of electric control switch located in the garage compartment or manually in case of an emergency.

Since the mechanical stress placed on the interior is significantly lower, we use a GRP laminate with a lower fiberglass concentration compared to the GRP laminate which is used on the outside.
This saves a significant amount of weight and enables the possibility to add an extra thick gelcoat layer that covers the laminate surface, resulting in a perfectly smooth interior finish.

Thanks to the excellent thermal insulation properties of the polyurethane foam which is used between the two laminate layers, our 2.36 inch panels offer the same level of insulation as a solid wood wall with a thickness of approximately 11.8 inches.

When driving an off-road truck in difficult conditions, the tire air pressure is critical to achieving optimal performance. Drivers must be able to evaluate the surface and find the right pressure in the tires to suit the situation. The pressure settings off-road are heavily dependent on the terrain, vehicle, and payload – with our Central tire inflation system (CTIS), dynamic adjustments to the tire pressure can be made on the fly, allowing the truck to quickly adapt to the terrain.

A highly efficient liquid-based heating system with underfloor heating, radiators, including towel radiators, and the water boiler. We employ high-quality pipe systems used in house construction.

A liquid heating system enables you to use an underfloor heating system, while also keeping the module warm for longer due to the extended heat emission from the heating pipes, the radiators, as well as the floor, that has absorbed the heat. The primary heat source of the system is a 5kW Webasto diesel heater. The system is also connected to the truck’s engine heat transfer circuit through a heat exchanger.

This solution provides a redundant heat source when the engine is running, which in the opposite direction also enables the engine to be preheated with the help of the Webasto diesel heater.

An additional electric heating element in the boiler, which draws the energy from the batteries charged via solar energy or from shore power, provides an additional energy source for hot water generation. It is easy to switch between the various energy sources. All of these benefits make for a system that is very flexible and far more efficient and suitable for cold regions than conventional air heating systems.

This extraordinarily compact roof-mounted air conditioner is designed to offer the highest possible efficiency and lowest possible energy consumption. Easy to operate, with flexible air flow thanks to independently rotating diffusers which can be adjusted effortlessly, either via the integrated control panel or remote control.
